ATF Decides Wipes are Now Silencer Parts ?

Not sure how many people actually have to replace these. Sounds like overreach by the ATF.

Just find you a friendly sot to swap them out, if ever necessary.

Once all the dust settles, they will still be able to buy them, I assume.

I'm no expert on them, but from what I gathered it's like a replaceable baffle in a sense. It is made of a soft material like polyurethane, which allows the hole through it to be small enough so that there is actual contact with the bullet as it passes through it. Since it "wipes" the bullet, it allows for more gases to be impeded from traveling through, thus aiding in sound suppression. They suffer damage from this obviously, and have to be changed after a certain amount of rounds.

Maybe it could be a little housekeeping establishing some consistency before starting to crack down on this solvent trap phenom.
