Or you could go this way. Especially for big cracks.

My only other tip is use it a bit before trying to install extra shite, I've got a couple holes to fix where stake out pole holder that doesn't really work right anyway pulled out, and realized I spend the entire trip other than initial paddle out with the pole by my feet at the floor of the boat anyway. I also moved the stock rod holder forward only to realize I don't ever use it and I might as well have not drilled the new holes and just removed the whole thing to begin with.

But yea, it'll leak into the hull. Some more than others. Mind got some water in it but I'm not sure if it was leaking, rain and splashing getting into aforementioned holes or a combination of the two. Another poster had his leak real bad, bps replaced it then told him to silicon the new one. I guess it is what it is. Probably have to reapply silicon every handful of trips or so. I might try marine goop next time I feel like the silicon is breaking down and see how it holds

That flex seal spray stuff maybe? (For the leak)

Instead of trying silicone again, I'm going to try this stuff out.

It's just in an awkward place. It's hard to silicon, plastic welding gun probably wouldn't fit. The flex seal might be hard to spray in there but let us know how it goes if you do

I can't see it being a dash mount, could be wrong though. If I remember correctly the holes are just forward of the seat.

Hey, so thinking about adding a new rod holder base further up in the yak because the forward one sucks. Question about the "Scotty" type rod holders, are these universal? Can I use the rod holder in a new generic base from academy? And in that same vein, are their universal accessories that I can use in the base that comes on the fs12t?

I had the same question and contacted Ascend Customer Service. Below is the response, in short they use this as a connection point when molding the kayak.

Sorry for not responding quickly. If you are talking about on the sides inside the hull those are for molding purposes and has the blind inserts and you can add accessories if you choose to.
Thank you.

Do you have the new model with the raised hatches? I have an older model with the flush hatches and it gets some water from there. Was the water rough and coming over the top of the bow?

As far as the new 128t, it's internally wired and has the 360 seat and more storage. It's worth it imo.

They are a bit heavy but I use the wheels and a truck bed extender. Price of cake in and out solo.

I've got a 2016 fs12t. My understanding is the threaded holes are used in the manufacturing process. I use some 1/4" bolts and attached small d rings to mine to clip paddle leashes and such.
