If pretty small, I'd say gecko or lizard more than likely. I know I have tons of lizards, skinks, geckos in my back yard that love living in the vegetable garden.

I can't go outside and walk in my back yard without seeing a dozen or more of them in no time.

Geckos only lay two eggs at a time. It's difficult to tell how large or small these are. But, they're either snake or non-gecko lizard eggs. Judging by the way none of them are stuck together, I'd bet they're lizard eggs. Probably skinks.

What would I do? I'd put the board back and let them hatch.

Maybe garter? You could candle them and see if anything is developing

Didn't realize skinks laid that many...I thought it would be just a few like the Anole. I just googled and it seems the 5 lined skink would lay that many.

If it were me I would collect 3 (with out rotating them) and try to hatch them myself to see what it was and leave the rest. You could get a container with a lid (make sure its well ventilated) and get a loose soil or vermiculite to put them in. Mist them a little to keep the eggs plump (they suck in if they are drying out) and leave it outside, out of the sunlight, and see what happens in about 2 months.

That's what I was coming to post. I've come across one of their nests before, the picture looks like an excellent match.

Snakes are weird. About 70% lay eggs, but vipers don't. But cobras do. But boas don't. But pythons do.
And then some have eggs that hatch inside them, but the babies come out without the shell. Rattlesnakes, for instance.
Weird.
