Thinking about picking this one up, it has the key mod rail which I'm not too sure about since I rarely see any accessories for keymod.

I eventually want to convert to .300 blackout which shouldn't be an issue right?

I've heard they were pretty good guns though, thoughts?

DD is one of the premier manufacturers out there. Bar none.

As far as KeyMod, there are plenty of accessories and more every day. I recently got my first keymod AR and I really like it. Now I just have to decide if I am going to convert over entirely or not.

Get the V11 Pro. Comes with Geissele SD3G trigger, BCM CH, 18" barrel with rifle length gas system, and their new Gen II Muzzle Climb Mitigator

If I were buying a complete rifle today, it's the first thing I would choose.

Another bump for DDM. I have a first gen v5 as well. Solid stick!

If I were to buy an off the shelf gun I would go DD. Solid all the way around.

What accessories are you looking for exactly?

You can put a rail section anywhere. You can mount things to rails. You can buy multiple different rail section lengths.

Where's the issue?

I think you'd absolutely love a keymod handguard. I love my BCM upper with the keymod. It's unbelievably lightweight and is super thin. It keeps weight away from the front of the rifle, which is the worst place for it to be.

Do it and don't look back. You won't regret it.

Thanks guys I went ahead and bought it.

Mainly I'm looking for a foregrip that mounts directly to the keymod. All I've found locally is the keymod to picatinny adapter. Then the grip to picatinny.

300 Blackout is $.47 a round. Unless you're gonna buy a can for it why pay double the cost of 5.56 for ammo?

Because I want my boys to shoot deer with it. Was thinking the higher grain bullet would be better for deer, the gun has so little recoil I think it'd be better for them than a .243.

Would 5.56 be as effective shooting deer inside of 200yds? If so I'll stick with it.

With good shot placement it would work but there are much better options.

6.8 spc being on in the AR-15 platform would be a much better option.

300aac with 110-125 grain would be a good deer round as well.

110 is the only way to go for 300blk in regards to whitetail. With anything lighter, you have too little velocity, too much drop, and not enough energy past 200 yards

I agree with Carson. 5.56 is a bit weak for deer even though it can be done. This topic has been discussed ad nauseum at many points on this board.

My personal favorite for deer is an AR10. I have plans to buy a S&W M&P10 sometime down the road since 308 is so ideal for them. Plus the semi auto nature of the rifle makes the recoil impulse softer since some of the energy from the round is transferred to the bolt as it moves rearward.

If you're worried about your kid getting afraid of recoil you can always put a muzzle device on a larger rifle. Your ears may hate you but your kid's shoulder won't mind.

Yes, as long as you use a good bullet. The only people I ever hear of who think otherwise have either never used this caliber for deer before or chalk up their poor marksmanship to the cartridge's performance.

Amen to this!

Unity Tactical vertical foregrip mounts direct to the rail. It's my favorite vertical grip.

Direct Mount VFG

Fortis makes a nice foregrip that mounts directly to keymod also!
