changing a rail is a joke, nobody would charge 300 bucks for that.
noooo... no where near 300 bucks. but somewhere between prob 100 bucks to whatever someone would install, then you're really only losing out on somewhere around 100-200 bucks the way i see it.
and if you saw the process on installing my bcm keymod rail, i wouldn't say it's a joke. the instructions are SUPER duper specific on several elements. if you don't do it right, you absolutely compromise it.

If you are going to spend nearly $2k on an AR, get a daniel defense and then throw a $600 optic on it. Wayyyyyy better than a Colt

Which parts are better specifically? Regardless of any potential parts that are better that i'm unaware of, I think calling it "wayyyyy" better is certainly an overkill statement. wouldn't normally correct that, but if the guy is using our info to help him buy stuff he should know that the Colt is top flight for sure. nothing else is -way- better. no offense, good sir.

Hammer forged barrel and LPK makes the extra money worth it alone. The fit and finish are just icing on the cake. Now lets throw in that DD rails are some of the best made and that I was able to get mine chambered in 300BLK and now you have a great gun.
We can get into metal specifics if necessary.
Colt is "top flight" because they were the cheapest bid for the military. They are the standard and lets be honest, military standard is pretty low. For not much more, there is much more to be had.

is the hammer forged barrel better becuase it's better in terms of how many shots can be fired before it breaks, or because of accuracy? that's cool to know btw. heck yeah I wanna know about metal specifics!

Hammer forged is stronger and will have much less POS when you hang a can on the end. Accuracy and longevity is dependent on barrel lining.
Daniel Defense
Colt just says that they barrels are chrome lined. I will continue looking for more info for a better comparison.

You may be right...but DD is in the top tier of AR15s. Colts are considered the tier below

Honestly, most AR owners are going to end up replacing so many parts on their guns that it prob makes the most sense to get a DPMS since the lower receiver is about the only part left in the end.

Good but not great = Colt, BCM, LMT, etc. All are much cheaper than what this one is going for.
BCM and LMT are good but not great?? Please disregard this entire thread.

It's all comparatively speaking. LMT and BCM cannot hold a candle to DD, WC, LWRC, KA, and many more. So that makes them good, not great.
So if you continue to be a waterhead, please disregard this thread.

Ahh I love that chart. My DD is lacking 3 or 4 things that they have checked off and has many things not listed.
To whomever I called a waterhead earlier, I sorry. That was harsh and I am just playing but everything else I said I stand behind.
BTW, the chart says that DD lacks a lifetime warranty. Want to guess where this quote is from? Ill help, its DD's website.
Burg, I thought you were better than this.
