Be careful around there, they are writing trespassing tickets in the marsh around there. Apparently a lot of that land on Hwy 1 is private. Be careful. There may be a thread on here about it. Personally, I haven't done that well there this year. But I haven't been in a couple months. Caught a few reds and a bunch of small trout drifting ponds with live shrimp. They may be legal by now.

its on facebook on those articles that Todd Mason writes. it all started with non locals going jump fenced and gated areas to launch their yaks, then get pissed when they get ran off and cried about how it should be public property

I've read about it in a couple places. I can't seem to find any other links than this right now. And I didn't really read through this entire thread, but it should give you some of the specifics.

i've caught limits of reds going to end of road, fishing wreck under bridge and cut across channel with tide moving. Also across B. Lafourche from Bobby Lynn's Marina into the dead end canals. The latter prolly not so good in summer.

Ain't nobody jumping a fence with a yak

All legalities aside, has anyone on here actually gotten ticketed? What's the cost of one of these tickets? How hard is it to make one disappear?

My family has had camps there for longer than I've been alive, yeah there's private property, but generally the locals just run you off, you know how many people I've heard of getting tickets? Absolutely zero, and my folks know a lot of people who know what's going on in that area. All those articles are, are a scare tactic used by the landowners and that beaurocrat Todd Masson.

They park on the side of the fence and jump the gated area to fish the bank, or just go around it with their yak.

they get harbor police to come run you out. most people wont say anything about parking or fishing on private property unless you leave a mess. if somehow you do get a ticket, its not going to "dissapear", especially not with harbor police.

I can't make heads or tails of the SONRIS maps. That land owner from LAS that claims he owns the land says he owns everything from Bayou Laurier to Fourchon south of HWY 1, but the SONRIS map shows a large portion of that as State Agency land in green. I'm evidently not reading something right.

We have a camp at Bobby Lynn's, and this is one of my preferred paths. I've highlighted some spots I usually do well with, but I'm not promising anything. I have a lot of success at spots 1 and 2 with redfish. get there plenty early and bring some top dogs!

I do appreciate it. Hoping to go check it out next week. Is the entire area directly across from Bobby Lynn's usually pretty good? Some spots hit or miss?

I still don't understand how tidal waters can be claimed. Do "land owners" pay taxes based on the amount of water too?

It's usually pretty good. I will say two weekends ago I didn't do too well (only caught one red and and a mix of white/specks), but that's just fishing. It's a very easy to learn/convenient place to fish.
