Great tractor. Gets you in a 4 series for closer to 3 series money.

We have one where I work and it's a workhorse. No problems.

It is last years model and not a lot of extras, but they seem to be making me a pretty good deal. Will be using 6' bush hog, tiller and box with it, so I think it will have plenty of HP

well, I use a 4' bushog on a 16 HP Kubota so by comparison, you will have tons of horsepower!

32.5 PTO hp will not pull a 6ft bush hog very well, that little tractor would be far happier with a 5ft on it.

Most people use the 7hp (pto hp) for each foot of bush hog.

Appreciate the advice and not trying to argue with you because I am new at this, but the bush hog I am looking at is not a heavy duty type (frontier) and tbey recommend a 25-65 hp pto, I was thinking being 30% more than the minimum would be sufficient, but you are recommending at least 42 pto hp for a 6'?

Yes,I would drop it back to 5ft. Your tractor will be lots happier (in medium to heavy cutting).

I run a 5ft on my JD990 which is 35 PTO hp and it chokes down some in tough cutting. I have a couple of fields that get done once a year and they are tough right now. I was cutting 4-5ft high grass and weeds yesterday in 2nd range, 2nd gear, and I just sharpened my blades.

Right.

We used to pull a 6' at right under 50hp pto and I don't think I would have wanted a whole lot less power than that. 42-45 is probably what I'd want for a 6' if I was going to be cutting pastures and stuff. For going through the woods 32 is probably enough for a 6' if it had a good heavy flywheel

The rule of thumb I've always heard is a minimum of 5hp for every foot in width for a bush hog.

So if you have a 25 HP tractor, you should have no more than a 5 foot bush hog, which will leave you with no excess capacity in the really rough stuff.

You should always get more than you think you'll need.
