How do you like it? How often do you shoot it. How bad is the recoil?

I have a .357 and am itching to get a Super Black Hawk or a S&W.

It's fricking awesome. What is not to love about a big nickle plated .44 mag?

Rarely. It's expensive to shoot. We drag it out every now and again as a novelty.

All the way bad.

I have a Super Blackhawk and it's probably my favorite firearm. I shoot it about once a month. It depends on how you feel about recoil, it definitely lets you know you just unleashed some fury, but it's still not too bad IMO.

4.63" barrel. I typically go through at least 12-18 rounds by myself and then let anyone else that wants to shoot have a go. I shot 36 rounds the other day practicing at 30 yards for a deer hunt.

What kind of grouping(3 or 5 shot) do you get at ~30yds?

Practice on a rest?

Not all that great . Averaging about 5"-7" on a 3 shot group without a rest.

Love the 44 mag. The recoil is much more noticeable than when shooting a 357, but it's not close to a 454. So to answer your question: It's an excellent caliber with noticeable recoil, but it could be worse.

i have a couple of .41 mags...

have taken 8 deer with super redhawk

and 2 with my other one..

i am a pretty big guy with stout hands.. and a .41 is just a lot easier to shoot...

I've got a .44 super red hawk and on a rest it will group around 2-3" at 50 yards. I put a 2X7 tasco on it, so that helps. But that's from a rest. Don't ask about holding that 12 pound beast on a lock on stand trying to get a shot at a deer slipping though. Lol.

I was shopping for a .41 when I bought my .357 it was too good of a deal to pass up.

I'm thinking about selling it though and buying a .44 later on. I want to kill a deer with it, but I don't trust the .357 (or the operator) out past about 20 yards.

I have that same gun and it will shoot 454 Casull as well and 460 and 45 LC.

It's a hand full to say the least

I have a Taurus .44. It was the first firearm I paid for with my own money. I plan on getting a nice .44 one of these days.
It's fun as hell to shoot and the recoil isn't as bad as you would think. I've shot it with one hand, no problem.
I shoot it every few weeks because, as mentioned already, ammo isn't that cheap.

I have 3 of various brands. I always did like recoil so I didn't mind the drawbacks of shooting them a lot, plus I reloaded and they are easy.
I'd rather shoot them 50 times than that 8mm Mag BDL 10 times.

A Ruger .44 mag and Henry Lever .44 mag would be a nice combo to own.

You could shoot 44 special in it also. But what's the point.
