I made the mistake of planting 3 weeks ago in north central La, I checked yesterday and it still looks like the dust bowl of the 1920's.

Do you think that your seeds will eventually germinate and grow once it rains?

We planted 2 weeks ago - caught a brief shower but it was not enough. Before we could get water on it the blackbirds and doves devastated the seed.

We have some fat arse doves though.

We have a creek that cuts through some woods...I threw out some seed just to see what would happen....not enough sunlight to make it work.

rice bran, rice bran and rice bran is the plan now....unless we get a nice rain in the next 3 weeks.

I noticed some moisture when I was turning the ground over the other day and I'm hoping the morning dew will help on my smaller plots till I can get some rain

Field I was hunting just went from cut beans to 6 inch deep powder. Planning on carrying some seed out next time I hunt.

I don't know if they will or not. The ground is still chopped up pretty good, so if we get some rain, I may just throw some more seed on it and see what happens.

Having the same problem. Plots were actually chopped in mid September after a small rain so they broke nicely. But I don't think its rained a drop since.

Still havent got mine in here in North AL. I sprayed with Gly a few weeks ago and hope to disc this weekend. Will probably be another week before I can plant though. We usually plant around the first of October.

I'm in north Richland and I won't plant until it rains unless a major rain event is forecast and showing on the radar. I've only got a couple of acres and its already chopped and ready.

We planted 2 weeks ago up here in South Arkansas. Forecast looked good for some rain.... didn't get a drop. Hasn't rained since the 4th of July.
Gonna buy a sprayer this weekend to hopefully get enough water on it to salvage it til we get rain.
