Anyone shoot a Browning BAR Mark 3 in 7mm-08?

Trying to sight it in with the only ammo I could find ( Norma 150 sp) and not having much success. TIA for any responses.

Assuming the rifle shot well with something else before trying the norma? If it's shot better before, try different ammo.
Some rifles just don't like some ammo. Check the obvious stuff like loose bases/rings/etc and then try something else.
In my experience, VERY few rifles are inaccurate with ammo they like. Some are picky, but just about all of them shoot something very well.

No, just got the rifle and the Norma was all I could find. It’s not a big priority since I have other rifles. Was just wondering if someone could recommend a brand that there’s liked. Will check the bases and rings! Thanks

I have a BLR in 7mm08 and it was accurate with the 140 core lokt. I started loading for it a few years ago and the sierra gameking 140 just as accurate as the Remmys .

I have a BAR Safari in .308…. Because of the short barrel it hates anything over 165gr. I’d step down to 140gr and see what you get.

Same, I have the Safari MKII in .308 with the 1:12 twist and stick to 150's.

I have one in 243. It likes Core Lokt .

BAR Safari .270 here.
I'm not much help on the 7mm-08 end... I was always a Remington core lockt guy growing up, but mine shoots Winchester soft points in better groups. They come in 130 gr. and 150 gr., I've noticed the heavier bullet seems to shoot better groups over the lighter round.
Since my longest shot at my favorite stand is only about 150ish yards. 150 gr. Winchester soft points it is.
I had hell finding them last year, but caught the guy unboxing some at Academy this summer. I bought 5 boxes of 20. That should hold me for the next decade or two of sighting in/making sure it's still on before season and shooting deer.
Eta: Congratulations on the gun. I think it's one of the most beautiful rifles made. My dad always made me shoot bolt action Ruger M70 as a kid and a guy in our camp had a BAR. I always admired it. I knew when I got older I'd have one and sure enough one fell in my lap during the Obama ammo craze. I made an amazing trade for it.

I have 3 7mm-08 rifles and they all shoot the Remington Core-Lokt 140's great. Note that 2 are bolt and 1 is single shot crack barrel units; not semi auto. One other consideration is if you are shooting it too soon between shots (barrel getiing hot and flyers are happening).

I have a BAR 300 Win Mag and it prefers 150 gr. Winchester soft points. Very accurate for a semi-auto rifle.
