Haven’t seen much more than the usual woodies at my spot. Was really hopeful that this front would push some more ducks down with only two weeks left. Come Feb 1st the ponds around the house will be loaded.

Wish I had a nice, warm blind in the deep water woods. Perfect conditions for green-clear, cold.

No doubt, I loaded up this morning to go, then saw the traffic problems and got back in bed.

Out here freezing my balls off. Two greyducks so far. Only seen a few groups and no geese migrating. And wind chill 10 degrees.

Probably won't see many today. they gonna raft up and try to get out this wind. Might have also pushed the ducks that were around out.

Hunted bayou black this morning thinking this front might push down something other than ringers. Wrong. 18 ringers. Didnt see a big duck. Still was a fun hunt. It was very cold. But had enough clothes on and was bearable.

Ducks just showed up behind the house out of nowhere. Lots of them. Want to go in the morning, but fear the ponds will be locked up. Might chance it in case there's ducks keeping it open.

No Woodies. Too far to ID, but you're typical rice field ducks.

I hunted the marsh below Lake Charles on Monday. I thought the front would push some birds down…I was wrong. Drove back to MS and cleaned my gear up for the year.

I am done!

fresh mallards and other random assortments like ruddies and more black Jax and greys in CenLa. We are still shooting blue wings, which I have never in my entire life shot a blue wing up here past the first split. Weather has definitely pushed them down. Few buddies non hunting ponds up toward Monroe were filled with mallards and teal yesterday.

We have had them pretty much all season the last three years. I didn't go this morning and will probably regret it.

a tale of two cousins...

1. hunting 6 miles north of Lacassine blind only fired 10 shots yesterday.

2. hunting off toledo bend - 18 in 45 mins no divers.

made a woodcock hunt just North of state line from BR yesterday - saw quite a few ducks flying high. Never seen anything but woodies at this spot. These weren't woodrows.

Glad I didnt miss anything. I hunted Monday and had a nice mixed bag of ringers, GW, BW, and spoons(those fully plumed males still avoiding me though).

I really thought we would see a big push here in Central TX. No dice. Been a weird year. Started off hot, but once we thinned them out new birds never really showed.

With the sun this morning, I was able to ID some of the flocks. LOTS of pintail, some spoons and more mallards than I have seen all season.
