We woke up around 4 am, walked outside, saw the wind was blowing about 30+ and went back to sleep. Just wondering if anyone braved the conditions and tried to cross the river. Was it rough or manageable? I haven't read about any horror stories yet, but im sure a few people gave it a go. Ducks just don't taste good enough to me to risk it.

My pops and a buddy of his hunted Sunday and will be there thru Wednesday. We hunt Pass A Loutre though, sounds like you are asking about upriver. They killed a two man limit yesterday morning but wasn't easy. Not as many new birds pushed down with the cold as he would have expected. They had 6 at 9ish this morning. They were eating breakfast and heading out to a different spot before lunch.

Yeah, we hunt up river for the most part. gettting out of the jump into the river is the scary part. The river was up some, and I think that spread the birds out.

Yea if I had to do it again I would've just stayed at the camp. And the birds are definitely spread thin right now.

Hunted Saturday and limited out but it wasn't easy. No wind and ducks flying high. Lots of shooting around us but didn't see many ducks fall. Sunday looked pretty miserable.
