Not for burning leaves/trash but for socializing. If so, do you use it as much as you thought? I like the idea of building one.

I do, we don't use it often. It's not anything major, just the bottom of a 55 gallon drum with sand on the bottom surrounded by some landscaping blocks.

For burning shite around the yard yes, for singing kumbaya and roasting marshmallows, no. Now if it was a fireplace with a chimney, I probably would.

ETA, in ATL not SLA

I rarely use mine. It really sounded good at the time, it is nice, but most of the cold weather weekends I'm at the camp.

built a big covered deck off the back of my house. Have a sink, grill, tv. etc. Wanted a fire pit but obviously wasn't gonna work building a fire on a deck. Bought this little guy a couple years ago and have been super pleased with it. This looks like a newer model or something because when i bought it, there were like 150 reviews and it was 5 star. Anyway, it is inexpensive, convenient, puts out a ton of heat, and so far seems to be pretty high quality. FWIW

I have one and use it in the fall. I light a fire, set up a tv outside with a football game, get some adult beverages and just enjoy the small window of fall weather that we have. It's one of my favorite things to do.

I have a good spot for one, but wont see the tv or anything from there

for now I have this cheap fire pit I got from home depot or something that I use from time to time on the deck, just gotta make sure no pops or anything catch the deck on fire

Thanks. My wife loves it.

I will like it a lot more when I don't have to worry about mosquitoes.

Yep.

There are plants in it 90% of the year.

But for that month in January my kids sure do love lighting marshmallows on fire and flinging them across the yard.

Use it all the time.

It's about the only way you can sit outside without the mosquitos carrying you off

Yes, we use it every weekend when it's cold and many week nights. The wife and kids like it as much as I do.

ETA: bbvdd I would like more information on that kit.

Yes. Built it using about 80 or so landscape bricks in a circle. Use it a lot actually. Steaks on an open fire, kids do smores, etc.

We have one that gets heavy use in the fall and winter. Our house is older and not great for entertaining indoors when it's too hot and humid outaide, but we are always having people over to hang out by the fire from Oct. to March.
