I've got a heavy duty 4x8 with 16" side walls, but I wouldn't trust the tires further than I can throw them. They are probably 20 years old. I have 30psi in them and they are hard as concrete. I used it every day when I was cutting for Stacy, but it has been sitting in the yard for the past month doing nothing.

You can use it if you want

Nah, a blowout on a 1500lb 4x8 trailer isn't anything rough. It tracks straight, has a bunch of tie downs, 16" sides, and is not a cheaply made Home Depot trailer. Yeah it could be fancier, but it works

man, that is a hell of a pull, wick...I would be a little hesitant to take someone's trailer if I wasn't familiar enough to know how the bearings have been cared for...

Wick just rent one, then go to walmart and buy a 2 ton hydraulic floor jack, 2 spare tires that are the correct size, and a 4 way tire iron.

When you get back, if you have not had a blowout, return all the extra stuff to walmart/academy.

Throws down on SD hunting trip... cheaps out and borrows trailer with "good" gas mileage.

A maintained 10' box trailer from UHaul/Hertz/etc would cost you $20 /person on the trip. You would be able to lock belongs during stops. Why even try to use someone's open trailer across the country?

If you need a coupon, let me know.

Hell I don't know you. I have an all aluminum 5x10 that I would loan you but I live in Georgia. Not sure why others have issues with it. Just get all your info before you drive off and they should be good with the understanding that if you break it you fix it

That might be the best choice. With Hoss and I driving up there, there will be room to get gear there and then we can load. I will touch base with you tomorrow.

Well I own 17 trailers of all shapes and sizes and while I have no issue with his request I have to say it is a question of liability. My insurance will not cover any of my trailers being towed by vehicles not owned by me and many policies are like this. If a tire blows out, it jumps the hitch, an ice chest blows off and hits another vehicle I can be held personally liable because my insurance won't cover it. So it jumps the ball and hits a passing car and someone dies, I can lose my home and anything else. And more than likely his insurance won't cover my trailer even though he is pulling it.

That is why I would not and do not lend my trucks, trailers, equipment etc...It doesn't take much to pierce that corporate vail and come after someone personally.

My opinion and advise would be renting from a trailer rental firm. Then all parties will be covered and the cost of renting trailers of that size is minimal.
