If so, which hotel or condo? Headed east in a few weeks and want to try to make a few days in Destin. Thought it would be nice to just throw my T 140 in the bed to fish the bay in the morning and tool around the beach in the afternoon. The damn thing is 14' so it might be an issue to carry through the hotel lobby and elevators in some of the bigger hotels and don't want to rent a house for 2 people for a few nights.

Yes. I have brought them to Santa Rosa many times...though we always stay in a first floor condo that is actually ground level. Makes stowing the boat relatively easy.

I've brought mine while staying in Pensacola. Just drive to a public beach or use a public access, they are everywhere.
I would bring some rods for offshore too. Catch bait with a sabiki and drag some dusters...never know what you'll catch.
There is a website, strikelinecharts.com, they have all public reefs on a file you can put in a gps. If you have that capability. You could catch any variety of reef fish.

Why not leave it in your truck? Put a chain or bike lock on it and you should be fine. If you want beach access, either carry it around the side or go to a public beach.

This. Your not going to want to carry that sob around, especially if it's hot. I'm not familiar with that yak, but if it's heavy, get beach wheels or stick to the bay. Dragging across sand is a bitch with heavy yaks.

One could very easily catch mangroves and flounder in a yak a few hundred yards from the caribe slips in OB.

I usually stay in a house but I have needed to store the kayak staying in a high rise. Last time in a high rise I made friends with the dudes that rented out kayaks on the beach nearby. Bought them some smokes and a couple monsters and they let me lock my kayak up on the beach in their shack. Very convenient and if they were renting my kayak out while I was there I couldn't tell.

I bought this inflatable while at the beach at the gulf last summer. Paddles like shite. Tracks like a drunk racoon. Slow as balls. Most comfortable Kayak you'll ever paddle though. It's like laying in a La-Z-Boy. We would take it 300 yards out in the gulf and chase dolphins. Doesn't weigh a thing. Packs down to nothing. With a 12V infilator is ready to paddle in about 2 minutes after pumping all the chambers. Fished in it at the lake house once. Not a ton of room for tackle. Not sure where I would have kept something if I caught a keeper. I was sure the little bastard catfish I caught was going to barb it and put me in the bottom of the lake so I stopped fishing on it and went back and got the jon boat Got mine for $59 at the Wal Mart in Destin. Bought it expecting to use it once or twice and it getting torn up and thrown away. It's survived a week of hard use in the ocean, a season of use at the lake house, and a couple trips down some slow big creeks.

we just backed into a spot where it would be very difficult for someone to take it

I've just seen them stowed on top of SUVs. The alternative is to ask a condo owner (if not staying in a hotel) if you can keep it in their 1st floor storage room. That's where we keep one year-round. Almost all of them have such a room

Took my Tarpon 140 to a friend's condo in Destin two years ago. 3 out of 4 nights i left it locked up in the back of my truck on the first floor of the parking garage with no problems. The one night I left it locked up to a boardwalk on the beach my rocket launcher, adjustable rod holder was stolen. Chalked it up to kids being kids.
