What kind of system do you have? Mount it with some kind of wood spacer?

Yep, I used 2x2 and made a frame, screwed the peg to the 2x2.

1x4s or 1x2s horizontally screwed into studs every few feet then peg board screwed into those.

I had a bunch of 2 x 4's and a table saw so I ripped them in half.

Did a friends shop and he used it. Only installed vertical 1x2 runners because the wall was old brick plastered so it was uneven. Has held up for 2 years and counting.

I use it above my work bench and in the barn.

Above workbench was a painted plywood wall so I just cut PVC to use as spacers and screwed it directly to the plywood wall with the pvc between the pegboard and the wall.

The barn is cement block walls so I used tapcons to mount 1x2's and then screwed the peg board to the 1x2's using sheetrock screws.

I did it a couple years ago and my shop looks like a tornado went through it, again. In really need to get my arse out there and do a good cleaning and organizing.

Screwed into studs with nylon spacers on screws between peg board and wall.

Question to all: What is the best way to keep the hangers from falling off? Those zig zag plastic things don't work.

I get really envious when I see a well organized garage. I cant even find the studs with a stud finder-- multiple holes in my garage wall. Looks terrible. But, I have to accomplish something this year in some type of permenant organization.

I just put the last coat of latex on my shop floor. I plan on using a Cobination of pegboard and French cleats for organization. I hope to have pictures over the coming weeks

Same situation here. Every time I tell myself I am going to tackle the cleanup, I have a beer for motivation. Then I have another. And, well, drinking beer is way more enjoyable than cleaning up a shop.
