Stumbled across this round today looking for new rifle. Looks pretty bad arse for hunting.

Don't know about the Creedmor, but I know a guide that swears by his 6.5x47. Very flat shooting round.

Dahammer does I believe. I shoot a 260.

The 6.5 is a beast.

I LOVE my 6.5 creed. Plenty enough to kill anything around here and I know of a few skilled shooters that take bull elk with them every year.

It's an awesome round to 1,000 yds, past that it starts to loose it's energy on game but I've punched paper out to 1500. I love the gun.

If you have specific questions fire away.

Ammo is always available online. One of the best cartriges I have shot extensively.

It's a fine gun. Initially developed for "gun matches", it's also a good hunting round as it's in the same ballistic ball park as the 260 Remington and 6.5 Swede (both of which have an enviable history as hunting rounds). 6.5 mm bullets have a LONG history at effectively taking wild game. If you've already got a good 6.5 Swede or 260 Rem, don't trade them off for the Creedmoor--unless you're just dying for a new gun!

You could put it this way.

6.5 creedmoor- If you dont reload or new reloader
260 Remington- If you do reload

6.5x55 is normally a long action cartridge

Pick up a Swede Mauser in 6.5 x 55. Pure quality rifle and the round is fun to shoot and very accurate.

JG I had mine built after I gsthered the parts. It's built on a 700 action, bartelin barrel, jewel trigger, Macmillan stock.

I see u are in walker if u want to shoot one sometime let me know I'm in Folsom and have a range.

As far as rounds the nice thing about the 65 is it's designed to be accurate with off the self ammo. I do reload but still shoot some factory stuff for close range hunting.

How does this round do in an AR10?

6.5 Creedmoor was designed to be run in a semi auto type gun. The sharper shoulder helps with feeding and allows longer bullets like the 140 berger hybrid to used and still fit in the AR magazine.

It does have slightly less powder capacity than the 260, but its not hardly anything to worry about. The better feeding will be far more valuable.

This is about the best article out there concerning the 260 rem vs 6.5 creed vs the 6.5x47 lapua.

I shot a GAP 10 in 6.5 creed about three months ago. It shot really nicely, of course it was a GAP they don't make junk.

I don't have a ton of first hand experience with AR10 and 6.5's but what little I had I liked. Considering building one in the near future.

Any of the 6.5s are great hunting rounds. If you look at things like sectional density and ballistic coefficient, it is shocking how such an easy-shooting round could have so much effect on the animal receiving it!

That said, the creedmore, .260 Rem,and 6.5 swede are all more similar than different. Find whichever of those you can get the best deal on.

Unless you want it in semiauto, in which case the Creedmore is likely the choice.
