Who you plan everything out with, agree to meet up at 4:00am to head to the hunting spot, you go to bed at 9:00pm to be ready to wake up early.....then your buddy wakes you up at 12:30 with a barely coherent drunken text that he cant make it in the morning because instead of resting for the morning deer hunting trip, he was at the bar hunting pussy all night.

Too pissed to go back to sleep after waking up to that text and too tired to drive an hour and a half to spot I was planning to go and drive back by myself. Wasted my Saturday night and missed watching Florida get what they deserved to sleep early for nothing

I think any other morning hunts I take this season will be solo hunts.

I will still go. Unless you get invited and that sucks

Had a friend that wanted to me to go with him turkey hunting opening day on his land in Union parish. Talked me out of going to tensas. He didn't show and wouldn't answer the phone. I'm sitting there in middle of nowhere getting madder and madder. Finally took off to tensas 90 miles away. Missed the first part of the morning I look most forward to each year

Why not just make this a solo hunt?

You're prepared and rested. I'd go.

One of my buddy's use to always say call me when your on your way and make sure I'm up.

My reply was if you or your stuff is not on your porch when I get to your house, I'm leaving without you and I've done it numerous times.

I couldnt fall back asleep and by time my alarm went off at 3:30 i probably had less than 4 hours sleep....place where we were planning to go was hour and half drive. Didnt wanna be falling asleep in the woods then still having an hour and a half drive home. Might just make a solo afternoon hunt though since I'm rested now

I tell them to either be at the house at a certain time or not. I'm going either way.

Some people lack discipline when it comes to hunting. Those people are not reliable for morning hunts.

I'll allow it once, if the next time isn't about traffic, accident, bridge out, etc. then you're off the call list. I like fishing alone anyway.

Well, I kinda do.

I have a friend that I've been friends with for 40 years.

I don't think he could be on time if his son's life depended on it. He talks longer than he thinks he does, he has to finish every little task before he leaves, and if frickin meticulous about the pettiest of shite.

He thinks he can leave Alex at 3:00 and be at a 5:30 LSU football game. Traffic?? Really??

I remember going into his parent's damn house to wake him up to go kill squirrels as kids.

Late people are one thing. LATE. And it will continue to piss off those of us who are On Time People.

Go by yourself and tell your baw to come along if he wants. I've spent many nights in a bar and gone straight to the stand from said bar (to fall asleep)

That's why I always hunt and fish alone. If I do plan something out with someone I give them a time to meet. If they aren't there by that time I go without them. I don't wait. They'll learn to have their shite together and be on time if they wanna go

I have a buddy who misses or is very late for 90 percent of the morning hunts because "his phone doesn't go off"

If one of my friends invites me duck hunting or fishing, they want me to show up at 4?, I'm in the driveway at 3:55 and I throw down for gas.

That's how I get by without a boat or any duck hunting gear.

In return, if I invite them deer hunting, I'm pulling out at 4:30. If you are not at the house you wait till next time.

Have heard that too. My response is, you can buy a noisy alarm clock at Wal-marks for 10$.

My 7 yo accuses me of being that guy

He hears my alarm and there is no going back on my plans to take him hunting.
