Spouse was rearranging room this mount was in and somehow managed to knock it off the wall. Thank goodness the nose and antlers are fine.

However, I noticed the corner of this ear now looks like this. Is there any simple trick I can do? To be clear, I did not do this taxidermy job and have zero experience with such:

trim some ear hair or hair that you can't see on back of mount and glue it over the exposed ear form. You don't need much since that area is probably < 1"

To actually answer the question...

You could try to match it and glue in a patch of white hair. But, a taxidermist can take some from another deer and fix it nicely.

Yeah I figured I could take it back to my guy but I’m sure I won’t see it for months.

Just put a santa hat on it where it droops over the ear. Problem solved.

That’s the only logical thing to do here.

Easiest fix for it would be to put some super glue where it's missing hair, and take a cotton ball and and put it on there then pull it off...it'll give it the fuzzy look and you can airbrush to blend it in more if needed. The "hairs" won't be as long as the rest of the actual ear hair, but it normally starts getting shorter at the end anyway. I've been doing taxidermy for 5-6 years as a hobby and picked up a trick or two along the way.

My question is WHY did the hair slip like that on a dried, finished mount? Something tells me the hide wasn't properly preserved to start with. Hair slip like that should never happen in a properly preserved mount.

I had a life size Orlando Magic Shaq cutout in my dinning room. I put a Santa hat and flashing lights on it every Christmas season. I never put up a Christmas tree while I had it.

Nobody said the hair slipped. Repair work on ears is pretty common. Deer split them fighting, rub the hair off, or just don't have much hair to begin with sometimes.
