Different plans out there. It is a coup with a recall funnel to allow some birds to get out and exercise and then return.

How I have seen it done (while never actually done it myself):

1. Wrap the piglet up in the blanket, carry it around until it stops screaming. (never be able to hear again)

2. Give it a warm bath to clean off the lice, fleas, ticks, etc. (You might want to do this first but it will scream the entire time)

3. Give it a bottle of warm milk. (it will then scream if you take bottle away)

4. Show it the cat litter box. (you might have to take it back there a few times if you catch it peeing somewhere else)

5. Think of a name for your new dog-pig.

Had a cousin just raise two of them this way. They would follow her around but were skittish around other people when young. She only had to show them the litter box once and they always went there.

You can add one of these and let some of them out. They will recall...

My wife's pot belly. Decent pet, very little maintenance but damn they are smart and don't forget...

This is her getting into a bushel of sweet corn I had bought...

We did it once. A few years ago we caught a bunch of hogs in our traps. One of them was a little red sow that was too young to kill and eat and the hunting clubs we normally sold them to didn't want to take her in.

We ended up putting her in our lot with my grandfather's domesticated pigs. A few weeks later you would've never known she was a wild hog. She ended up staying in the lot for about 8 years until my grandfather got rid of all his pigs.

I don't know how we tamed that pig, he watched me kill his 10 other brothers and sisters in what I could only imagine was quite a traumatic experience for him.

I'll have another inside pig before a dog any day. Cleaner, smarter, and less maintenance. Didn't have to worry about slobber, fleas, shedding fur, etc . Now this little wild one won't be an inside one, I just wanna tame it down and let it roam the yard.
