I have never hunted "raccoon", but I did see a opossum crossing the street this morning in NOLA.

Present. I have an English coonhound on his way to being half arse decent.

It's a dying sport around here. It was all but dead until about 3 years ago when some of my buddies started getting back into it. Since we don't run deer dogs anymore, coon dogs are how I get my fix.

Can't wait for February to get here. We go a bunch after deer season ends.

I just shoot them off my back porch as they raid my bird feeders LOl. Don't need dogs or need to go to the camp. Just blast away, but I have had to buy a few new bird feeders due to poorly aimed rounds.

We almost never shoot them. If I wanted to just kill coons I could dump a super sack of corn on our big power line and probably kill 500 in a 24 hour period. We're filthy with them.

A good coon dog is probably the hardest dog to get. It's all about the dogs.

I am trying to train a blue tick and a plott right now. The blue tick is the same age and miles ahead of the plott. The plott can not pass up on an armadillo for some reason

Sure as shite. Had a treeing walker shipped from north Ky. First night out, that dam dog was going crazy. Come to find out it was tracking a dam diller.

Used to have a Bluetick that would run deer all day & tree coons all night if you could keep up with him

I'm on about my 8th dog in two years.

Coon dogs sure piss me off. Nothing like walking a mile through nut deep swamp fighting cotton mouths and mosquitoes to find a slick tree. It takes some effort to not shoot them sometimes.

Like to hunt them. Have a nice squirrel/coon dog who is gamey as hell. Gun Shy though.
