Alabama OB'ers, snake question

So my wife just sends me a text. The girls that live behind us were playing with my daughter in our yard. We have a big oak tree, with a huge ring of monkey grass around it. Maybe 8-10 feet wide. One of the girls was walking around in it, heard a hiss, and jumped out of there. Described to my wife a green and yellow snake. I'm thinking it is just something harmless. She doesn't have a pic. Any thoughts as to what type?

"Don't let the kids play in the monkey grass."

GDKC.
Actually, maybe a king snake... but I doubt she heard any hiss. Probably saw the snake and added the hissing part.
Saw a king snake in the middle of my street two days ago. Wife told me to kill it, and I told her I'd never live it down from the OB if I killed it... just moved it out of the road.

No Green and yellow venomous snakes in Alabama.
Get wife to take picture. She's a woman, therefore never more than 3' from an iPhone.

I just read the text again. Apparently my wife heard the hiss and then saw the girl jump out of there. But then again, this is coming from a bunch of girls and a woman.

How do you think she sent the text?
she's apparently too scared to look for it. She also freaked out when she saw a slug in the bathroom last night.

Hog nose will hiss. If it's a hog nose catch it. Coolest snake

Need tougher kids and new wife.
Just kidding. This green and yellow one has been living in my house for a few days.

That's what I was thinking. OP, do you know if it was solid, had stripes down its back, or was it more patterned?

Your wife messed up the text. The snake didn't hiss, your girl took a piss.

The "hiss" might have been it hauling arse through the grass...
