I'm debating concealed carrying my Colt Delta Elite. I've never attempted to carry a full size 1911. Anyone on here carry a full size? What carry positions and holsters work best?
Thanks

I've carried my colt 1911. It's not super comfortable but possible and I'm sure over time I'd get used to it. I have a leather OWB. It's a good quality but I can't recall the name.left handed so I carry about 8 o'clock

Yes, I conceal a delta elite in a crossbreed IWB holster. You can't be small and conceal a gun like that. I'm 6'2" 220lbs, that helps conceal a big pistol like that.

Only complaining I have heard from people carrying 1911s is they feel like a boat anchor. Always carry hammer back safety on.

Carry a 1911 Commander Size in a Savoy Leather IWB holster, very comfortable with a good leather belt.

Texas I've been thinking of getting a commander length Dan Wesson.

Full size Ruger SR1911, crossbreed super tuck deluxe, Sometimes 3 o'clock but mostly 5 o'clock.

And I'll second what KR said about being a bigger person.

The Commande much easier to cc than the full length. I comfortably cc a Metro Arms Commander using a Woolfe Gun Leather IWB holster and a 1.5" leather belt. Sadly, Woolfe Gun leather is no longer in business.

I carry my Delta Elite with an IWB. Really want a new holster but it doesn't bother me.

And KR is fat.

Would make a great choice. I can't really think of 1 negative when trying to talk yourself into buy a Commander size 1911.

Weight is a real consideration. The 1911 is an all steel gun so it's much heavier than the modern polymer constucted gun. A quality gun belt and holster will help considerably. I don't really notice the weight unless it's at the end of a long day of carrying. OTOH, weight might be an issue for some. I don't have one yet, but I think a lightweight (alloy frame) 1911 like the Ruger LW Commander would be really nice for cc. I expect to have one some day.

Can't speak to carrying a full size 1911, but I carry an Ultra CDP II Kimber that is easy enough to carry. I carry in a high noon holster. I've tried multiple guns for carry - Sig P239, H&K P2000, Glock 30, etc. By far and away the Kimber is the most pleasant to carry concealed, for me.
