This M48 Hawk is the ultimate tactical weapon. It is lightweight to be carried all day without added muscle fatigue and the blade of the M48 Hawk offers a wide, upswept axe blade for mammoth chopping, slashing and cutting potential. The secondary edge on the backside of the head is specially sharpened on both edges for a cutting and hooking attack. When combined, the spike and axe head make for an efficient personal defense and breaching tool. The anodized AUS-6 stainless steel blade is securely attached to the indestructible 30% Fiberglass reinforced nylon handle with three separate bolts. It comes complete with a nylon snap-button sheath. 8" bl, 15" overall. United Cutlery, UC2765
this is the other option im looking at. its about the same price but it appears to be a lighter and slightly smaller version

The SOG looks pretty nice as well

from looking at prices seems like its about half of the suggested retail.

Cold Steel makes good stuff. Just solid.

the sog is probably the 3rd option. its really between the cold steel and the m48
eventually im probably buy a few of the old wooden handle ones

I think I would rather a handle with some grip on it like in your second choice
Posted on 1/14/11 at 3:27 pm to TexasTiger
im now leaning toward the 2nd. i like the grip and im thinking i want it to be lighter and smaller like that one.
