There are 0 hooks
0 baits
Very few rods and reels.

They have not restocked one time since COVID started. Is this the same at all of the stores or just Hammond?

Covington was out of gaffs when I went last week. Guy working said they've been having a hard time getting new shipments on certain items that come from China. I could see they had a few items that looked out or low, but overall decently stocked

Pretty much the same at the store in Harahan when I was in there a couple weeks ago. There were very few reels in stock and the ones they had were the smaller variety spinning reels for light fishing.

Supply chains are all screwed up right now and it isn’t going to change soon.

This is what will happen when you have a pandemic that starts in a country where 50% of all your countries manufacturing comes from.

Companies had to manage cash flow. Inventory is cash sitting on the shelves so it isn’t surprising hey they would be slow to ramp up the purchases.

Seems like a good chance for couple retired old farts with a metal press to make a little side change

Funny... I got emails from academy almost daily saying they were restocked and ready to meet all of our needs! Lol

But yea, I went the other day to grab some #4 trebles and they didn’t have any! No crab nets either for our weekend trip

Been to a Harbor Freight lately? Would be willing to bet it’s worse. As mentioned the supply chain is all fricky at the moment.

Try looking at Nets and More, formerly The Fish Net Company online. It's a company located in Jonesville, LA.

Add Covington, Slidell, and West Monroe to your list. Gus’s Tackle is a good option on Northshore as well.

Our Academy in McDonough, GA is very picked over. Our local sporting goods store is also. Their distributor says there is stuff in the warehouse, but they can't get people to work with unemployment so high. Not sure if that's true, but it rings true. However I sure wouldn't want to depend on this supply chain as it is now.

I’ve been to 3 different HF’s looking for a welding machine. None of them had any in stock.

So, it’s universal that most if not all the academy’s in Louisiana have shite inventory. LC store doesn’t have accurate online inventory in their store. This is pre-covid also, million $ bar code system and they can’t keep opening night lil Jon’s on the shelf, knife blades, pistol bullets, Paul brown baits.
Me thinks the investment bank that owns academy couldn’t care less about the outdoor section and focus on gloves, bats and yogurt pants for the milfs.

Academy Hammond and Metairie are hit and miss in the best of times and now the cupboard is bare. Bass Pro Denham is out of lots of stuff too, even Puglia's is struggling to maintain inventory. I can't find the St Croix rods I'm looking for in-store anywhere.

Marshland Tackle in Ponchy behind Rouse's has most all of the tackle I use, he's good about beating Academy's price on the more expensive items like rods and reels. I've been buying there the last few years and am very satisfied with the service. Owner is a good guy avid bass fisherman and freely shares his impressive knowledge.

Too bad I don't know how to bass fish....

Was at one yesterday in Richmond/Rosenberg TX. They were out of everything but overpriced Yeti coolers, mugs, and tumblers.

Need a kids bike...., all 3 rows on the wall were empty. They usually have hundred plus. Waste of time going there.

Cabela's in Gonzales is in pretty good shape with the exception of hooks and weights. It pretty sparce. Same thing at Walmart.

The academy In Lafayette has been a shite hole the past 6 weeks. Shelves are empty and the line to check out is longer than Walmart. It isn’t just lack of supply.. the stores a mess. Clothing displays look like they haven’t been folded in weeks, shite all over the floors. Looks like they’re using China virus as an excuse to not do their jobs.

I’ll gladly give my money to fully stocked/staffed field & stream across the street.
