The closest collection to this one that I've ever seen is at the Chickamauga Battlefield Visitor Center. One man donated a PART of his collection to the museum. Took me three hours to look at them all. Park rangers said they had no idea how much all those weapons were worth.

I noticed this am when showing it to a couple of guys I work with that he has a set of dueling pistols that were George Washington's.
That's amazing.
That being said, had the family gotten a better auction house they would have done much better. Someone like James Julia or Sotheby's.

They are nuts not to run all of those firearms through one of the specialty firearms auction houses. Leaving who knows how much money on the table.
