im looking at buying s used 4 wheeler for taking care of fence lines and ditches and roads around the house. Also it would double as my hunting bike for duck hunting.

I'm wanting to spend around $2k, is it an unreasonable expectation to get a decent running bike for this?

May get an older Honda Rancher for that. Likely will have to spend around $3k to get anything worth having.

You can get an old 300 fourtrax for under 2k in really good condition.

Rancher is perfect. If you search for a while, $2k will get you a good running one. Make sure it never had snorkels and huge tires and shite

Search 2013 Honda Rancher 4x4 on BTR Craigslist and LA Sportsman...don't think solicitation is cool here

Would a Honda Recon (250) be big enough for you?

It works for me. It's a 2wd. Light enough to pick up yourself if you get stuck.

I've got one sitting in my storage room in the way.

I had one as my first four wheeler, and it is an awesome little machine. I could just pick it up and move it out of a mud hole when I got stuck

I dont see how people have the money for all those super modified 4 wheelers. I guess if that was your only hobby but damn. That is a bunch of money on those rims and tires and such just to wreck every moving part on your 4 wheeler. I dont get it.

I think a lot of people that modify those bikes a lot pretty much ride all the time.

...until they get tired of sinking money into them.

On my primary 4 wheeler I have some tires I find to work well in rice fields - always have a winch on primary 4 wheeler.

Add windshield in winter cause it is cold.
