I almost bought one, but went with the Ram EcoDiesel instead. Love it so far.

The OB will likely ostracize me, but I am interested in these. What's the scoop?

I get 30-31 mpg on the highway. I'm averaging around 25 mpg for daily driving. Bought mine from Gillman Dodge in Houston.

I'm not gonna say I don't know that it's back there, but it has no trouble pulling it

Averaged 9mpg going about 65

Went from a 5.4 to 3.5 and I promise you one thing I'll never own another ford without ecoboost man I've loved this thing from the first day I had it. Have 117k on it and still get 15.8 mpg with mostly city driving.

my neighbor has the 2.7 in his 2015 and gets about 22 mpg, but he doesn't pull anything.

This is what baffles me about the 2.7. I get the same mileage with a 5.7 V8. Why would anyone want that motor when it doesnt seem to be great at anything and will likely cost more in maintenance in the long run. Is Ford selling the 2.7 cheaper than the 5.0?

I get this with my 5.3 chevy.

I rent a lot of vehicles and was given a 3.5 ecoboost last week, normally we get rams and overall the ford was much more comfortable to drive than the ram. I dove it almost 2000mi in a week and really enjoyed the truck. As far as the turbo whine its ok but there is nothing like the turbo whine of a big diesel motor. I was hauling around tanks that weighed 800+ lbs and while I knew it was in the bed the truck handled well.

There were 2 things that I noticed w/ it (truck had 15k miles) – whoever the fn ford engineer was that designed the turn signals ... fire their a**, the things stay on, don’t really turn off and don’t click that loud so I was like a blue hair in FL driving 20 mi down the road w/ my turn signal on. This is not an issue w/ NOLA residents cause they never use their signals. 2nd issue was a hesitation in the tranny when shifting into D, didn’t happen all the time but at 15K miles I don’t want hesitation in a tranny. Mileage don’t know don’t care it was for work I drove it like a rental so mileage prolly wasn’t that good.

The truck is too heavy for that small of an engine to do well.

I love mine I got the 15 XLSport extended cab long bed with auto stop. Plenty of power and getting 22 in city and 26/27 on highway. Towing 20' Alum Bay boat that I forget is there I get about 17/18. That twin turbos will throw your head back when you need to get down on it.
