Looking at pulling the trigger. Any pro's or cons about them?

Everything I've read says they're really are no con's. I've been looking at getting one as well.

Fast. Good mpg. Not great towing

Soooo perfect for the average person who has a truck, let's be honest

If you need to tow at all, get the 3.5L

I'd get the 5.0L if you tow anything.

Make sure you get the crew cab.

Ford does not install structural crash protection on regular and cab and a half models.

THIS! I had the 5.0 in a 2012 and now have the 3.5 ecoboost in my 2014 and I will say its a huge difference. I pull a 22 foot bay boat and it pulls way better. my neighbor has the 2.7 in his 2015 and gets about 22 mpg, but he doesn't pull anything. cant go wrong with any motor option..

All I ever tow is a 18ft aluminum boat. But everything I read also said it could handle with ease. Just wanted maybe some personal experiences

Probably the best engine they have for a daily driver. Plenty of power for driving around town with good gas mileage. The 3.5 will be better at towing but the 2.7 will be more than enough for most use. (hauling boats, four wheeler trailer, 2 axle light transport.)

I read just the opposite and most reports show they get worse gas mileage than the 3.5's. If anyone has any real world mileage numbers I would love to see them.

16 mpg over 15k miles?

Yes, very noticeable. Pulling and everyday driving.

gotcha. I've driven both. To me the 3.5 is more "sporty" but I like the way the 5.0 feels and sounds

I test drove one before I bought my new truck. It was smooth
and had decent power but nothing compared to the 3.5 eco. I didn't like the loss of power so I bought another 3.5 eco. I have heard a lot of good things about them.

Definitely cringe a bit on the turbo sound. so much so, I added sound deadening to the entire vehicle. I'm a big v8 guy, but at least I have one in my jeep. But the 3.5 is the absolute tits for towing. Mileage isnt anything really that great(16mpg on 93), but I do have a lot of performance stuff on mine

its not for me

It is funny to see a valet bring the truck around after they have heard the turbos and blow off. most dont expect it from a truck

You opened the BOV? I had it for a while but am back to stock now. Which tune do you have? I'm gonna probably put a 5 Star custom on mine after Christmas

eta: I'm gonna open mine up for the road home
