Ruger has a special on the 10/22 Takedown model right now.
Saw them at my LGS yesterday. Different prices for the different stock and finish options but I think the base black stock with satin stainless finish was $209. And it comes with a 325rd box of federal ammo and a 3D rubber squirrel target.

I've decided I'm buying my soon to be 3 year old a 10-22 for Christmas. His mother will think it is another toy for me, but I'm going to make sure he's got his own arsenal stored in a safe place for when he needs it. The 10-22 will complement his M&P 22 quite nicely.

Go see the folks at Optimum Outfitters on 59 by 1088. I was there Friday and they have several of the take down models in different finishes that are on sale with extras as I mentioned in my post a lil ways up.
