That may be the case, and I have no reason to disbelieve you. We also killed our ducks opening weekend last year. But it's totally blind to think that the ducks are down that early in November (the first week, like last year). Give me the extra weeks on the back end. I'll hunt low water any day for ducks that are actually here.

yea we had better hunting earlier then later. the river got high and ruined some spots we traditionally hunt.

I agree though id rather a week later than what they have now but I'm not gunna bitch. I like hunting and will do it no matter what the date is even it means I'm in shorts or freezing cold.

I'm with you. I just wish they'd actually listen to the hunters. I understand the rabble rabble reasons for people not killing ducks makes a lot of hunters (accurately) look seriously misinformed, but that's not all of us. Take a week off first split and add it to second for coastal, and I'll be happy.

One day .

I also like the dates. We usually have great hunts in the first split.

Wtf? Still too early. We're leaving Jan days on the table. When will they listen to coastal hunters? Don't they know low water isn't an issue any longer with 55hp surface drives?

My 2015-16 season was soooo bad that I don't have any interest in the 2016-17 season yet.

I refuse to ride out to my blind and see what the floodwater damage is to my setup.
