I'm keeping mine til it falls apart. It's paid for and rolling strong at 150,000.

I don't use this one as much as I used my 7.3, but it's still more than what a 1/2 ton could have handled. In it's prime my 7.3 saw a trailer damn near 1-2 times a week and regularly had 2000lb of feed or equipment in the bed. I do intend on keeping this one quite a while and I'm hoping it'll last a long as time. I had considered finding something small and economical for commutes/trips but luckily for me our office is being moved, cutting my daily commute from ~50 miles round trip to ~4. So my daily diesel burning is about to get cut significantly.

This will probably be my last diesel. I needed It when I bought it but not anymore.

A half ton is all I need at this point in my life. I'm not hauling goosenecks anymore. If I do need to haul something that I can't with my truck, I've got access to 1 ton work trucks that I can use whenever I want. Downshift would fap to those trucks, 5.9 cummins 4x4 with standards and base models.

I had about 4000lbs in the bed the other day. Would've been two trips in a 1/2 ton, so there's that

Only thing that would make it better was if they removed the seats and replaced them with 5 gallon buckets.

The interior has been ragged to hell and back too. They're right up his alley.

The best one I've hauled with was a 06 duramax. I'm fairly certain it could haul west Texas.

All of the dually duramax trucks I have pulled with are geared really high or low whatever you wanna call it. They top out at like 75-80

They must have had them governed down knowing you'd be driving it.

I've had mine over 90 with a 35' gooseneck. .

You don't have a dually though.

I used to work for a boat place and we had a 5-sp f350 dually that would only go 70.

My buddy's F450 was like that. He traded that bitch in. None of his 3500 duallys were ever like that.

Most of them have 4.56 gears. Great for stump pulling, pretty horrible for hauling arse down the interstate.

Thoughts on an F150 pulling a 24 Bay Boat with T-Top roughly 200 miles? Better to go 3/4 ton or not?

It'll be fine. What does it weigh, like 7k loaded?

Now of you do it twice a week a bigger truck might be something to consider.
