I still like my idea the best, because I am smarter than everyone else. I'll repost it since ya'll ignored me the first time.

quote:

We can do a "post pics" tournament. Must have weighed the fish; no "I think it weighed this much." Don't have to post a pic of the scale, but we'll have to rely on honesty. Top 5 bass and a big bass division. We can make it a month long tournament or one day. Public waterways only, no private ponds.

Winner can add "TD OD Board Bass Tournament Champ" to their sig or location.

When it gets closer to the Spring we can arrange for a Spillway/Gibson cookie jar tournament for anyone that can make it.

I didn't ignore it brah. I like it, just the scale adds some subjectivity since we all have different scales.

I like the Top 5 and Big Bass categories.

And like you said, we shouldn't let this deter us from holding any IRL get-togethers.

I'm in this bitch. I don't feel like reading this whole thread. Have we come to a consensus yet? What are the ideas?

On an internet message board bass fishing tournament, there will be a lot of subjectivity and cheating. You almost have to rely on honesty and figure someone will cheat anyway. We're not competing for cash so it doesn't really matter.

Make posters "join" before hand, so every lurker and 10 post poster doesn't join after they catch a monster. That will limit it to the regulars who post a decent bit.

The ruler pics and cards and all that make it more complicated and turn people off IMO.

Me too.

Only person I've met that posts occasionally on the OB is NSWhoDatNation

He was a good dude and was drunker than a mother frick at Talladega.

He barely remembered talking to me IRL

Yes.

Toledo Bend. March 3/4. Best 5 bass. Catch and release. No live bait. 1/2 lb penalty for dead fish. Launch anywhere. Weigh in at Cypress bend at 4 p.m. Random polygraph. No alcohol during fishing hours.

Ideas are as follows:

One Day Tourney vs. Predetermined Time Period
Catch Validation - hand signal, particular item, ID card
Big Bass and 5 Biggest fish
Weight Validation - scales vs. using length/girth measurements paired with an online weight calculator for all catches
Singles vs. Team

I honestly have zero desire to meet any of y'all IRL... Except old goat and the only reason I want to meet him is to whip his arse

You wouldn't really be able to. Honesty, plus a picture.

What would be good for the fruit jar? $25 per person? Optional $5 for big bass?
