Need to post the proper way to measure fish bc people don't know how to do it according to LDWF specs I.e. mouth closed

Is this going to be a one day event or all spring?

I don't think you'll be able to incorporate weight AND length... Take that long skinny arse bass for example

We can keep it running as long as we want. If we want to keep it going through Labor Day, that's fine. We just need to decide on a cut-off date.

There's too many variables involved in using weights. We all have different scales. If we get the length and girth measurements, we can find an online weight calculator to run all fish through. That way, the measuring tool is the same for everyone's fish.

That's why we pick one and have one person run all the catches through.

I'm readin whatcha writing... It's just gonna be hard to get these asshat lurkers that join to do the shite right. Also, issue I had was... How do we know someone's buddy didn't catch the fish?

So length and girth. Also gotta have username and date on a piece of paper or something like sportsman posted to make it legit.

Just gotta rely on honesty I guess. I'm not posting a pic and try to take credit for a fish my buddy caught. frick that noise

If you're doing best 5 it needs to be a one day event and everyone post their catch at the same time

We will have an established field. If they don't sign up, they're not in. And unfortunately, we're going to have to trust we only submit fish we catch. There's no real way to keep tabs on that.

That's a good idea. We have to validate the catch with either a piece of paper with specific info or a particular item in every pic. If we use length and girth measurements, each fish will require two pics to be considered a valid catch.

TBH, I don't like the idea of it being a one day event. It'll be tough to get everyone one a body of water and posting catches at the same time. I don't think that proves who's the overall best either. That just proves who got on them on a particular day. I'd prefer we run it a while.

The card thing was a pain in the arse bc I always forgot it... Maybe we can do a hand signal in the pic or but a certain lure by the fish... Not to mention my dad and friends were like wtf are u doing with a piece of paper next to the fish.. Kept me from taking pics of a few of em

So you would prefer someone to go fishing 20 times and catch one 3 pounder every other trip and that validates them as a good fisherman?

I'm in

Eta: damn you autocorrect

Like I said, it's difficult to get everyone that wants in on the water on the same day. The more restrictions we put in place, the fewer people we'll have in.
