I am not the most knowledgeable source but in my experience on my property, the deer are very nocturnal. they are on my cameras eating from dark until just before daylight. They go bed and sleep for a few hours by the time the sun comes up and then feed again later in the day.
I do not have the best hunting property so other people will disagree with my reasons but that is my experience. I see more deer between 9am and 1pm than from 5am - 8 am so I will try and make mostly midday and evening hunts this year

Killed nice buck Thursday am before thanksgiving dinner. 6 man limit of ducks yesterday by eight. 10 man limit by 9 this am. Few mallards.

Shot at a really good buck at about 250. Got a tracking dog en route. Trying to stay positive but have a bad feeling. Nice 7 killed by one of our members.

Hard to judge where the deer was standing in cutover. No blood that I could find.

I didn't know what he had it was so early I just knew he was outside and above his ears. At that stand that is a shooter too much private land around that shoots everything.
