Foggy, misty, nasty weather. Temp feels nice though.

Temp feels nice bit foggy as hell.

Supposed to hunt until tomorrow but the wife, who is 36 weeks pregnant wants me to come home today. She 'has trouble sleeping' when home alone. Part of me says to leave so I don't have to listen to her emotional arse tell me that I'm selfish. Other part of me says, frick it, she's already pissed. May as well just stay.

What say ye, outdoor board brethren?

This. But I'm female, so it probably won't count.

You think she is griping now, if she starts having contractions when you are in the deer stand, watch out

But...but...but...this is my last chance to hunt in lord knows how long!

This is the source of most of our arguements, regaldess of her being pregnant. She just doesn't like me gone for weekends to go hunting. I work 90/80s so that extra Friday really helps! This is only my fifth weekend to hunt this season.

When my mom was going into labor, it happened to be opening day of dove season. Mom told my dad, I'm going into labor, he responded with....."first go make me a sandwich to take hunting." Second, "you're not going into labor, you just need to go sit on the toilet."
Needless to say, he went hunting and I was born. Marriage lasted about a year and a half. I still here that story.

So man, make a damn memory, be a story worth telling. Stay and hunt, you may shoot that 10-12 point tomorrow. No regrets!!

I'm not worried about her going into labor and neither is she. She still has 31 days and statistically speaking women give birth 95% of the time on their due date (had do a little statically analysis, confuse her with numbers type of thing)

She just doesn't like being home alone!

Do you pirogue to your stand or walk? After the 7 snakes I saw yesterday a couple parishes over from you, there is no fricking way I would be walking through that swamp.

Man....you sound nervous. Just hunt if you know she's not going in to labor. As the husband or a NICU NP, while those statistics may be true, there's always a chance.

Now if she "just doesn't like being alone" and does this stuff even when she isn't pregnant....that's a whole new ballgame. Good luck

This stand I walk. Most of the distance is an old oil tram that's dry and 30 yards with hip boots. Those block is too thick for a pirogue. Only way I can see >20yards is cutting lanes.

I have other locations that have no under brush and only mayture cypress and I push pole when it's deep enough. Early this year was dry and I had to walk. Snakes are everywhere and it sucks

ETA: One of the dog guys just shot. frick pushing the dogs because them guys see a lot of snakes

My second son was born at 37 weeks four months ago. It was a total surprise as no one expected it. We went in for a standard check up and her OB sent us across the street to the hospital due to her being dialated and baby having a high blood pressure.

Do what you will, but a hunting trip is not worth missing the birth of your first born five hours away. That day changes a man forever and you don't want to miss it. You don't get a second opportunity for a first time ever event. I suggest you pack up and surprise her home early and end up with third trimester sex this evening. You need to get it now because the park is closed for a while after that baby is born.

It's tough and tiring/frustrating but different. Greet scenery and wildlife. It's also 2 miles from my house. I'll never get out the club but my family is looking at land in Mississippi also.
