The current administration has halted drilling and is denying all permits until the "new standard" is met.

NEWSFLASH! The new standard apparently doesn't even exist yet!

Biased special interests perhaps?

If this acoustic system is part of the new standard, I will scream.

Either willful ignorance of what they are talking about, or carefully calculated attempt to artificially kill the oil industry earlier.

Why I am not surprised with this administration?

They will use this in an effort to regain the affections of the tree huggers.

Yep.

And were your drilling permits approved before or after the announcement, hot shot?

The major operator I work for has had a deep water permit put on hold until further notice. The rig is sitting idle. Damn, if this guy has over 8 wells going and more to come, we need some of his business. Damn, over eight could be an infinite number.

Couldn't agree more , these type of incidents don't occur everyday.
