your take on my expensive wrist pieces ain't gonna hurt my feelings.

I hope not. You just seemed to be getting a little worked up. I don't give a frick what anyone spends on anything. I'm not even really sure what ever possessed me to post in this thread to begin with. Maybe I was trolling and didn't know it.

but its not like a woman throwing on a set of diamond earrings

Actually, it's exactly like that. But it's also comparable to the car analogy that has been mentioned.

I don't say that to condescend the watch guys in this thread. I don't judge how another man spends his discretionary income.

I completely understand Gaston's sentiment "it becomes something more, to me at least." To each his own.

It's like diamond earrings, I think. Either you get it or you don't.

Basically, unless you are a nun or a monk, everyone makes these types of choices dictated by personal preference. Personal preference is based on enjoying one thing more than another.

Everybody does this, whether it's your shoes, car, house, suit, sunglasses, watch, firearm, tv, etc.

I have 2. A Tag and a Sinn. Every time I look down at it I smile.

Every man has a vice or an indulgence. If not I worry for them. Not saying 2K watches or your life sucks, but golf, hunting, fishing? Any collector.

Do you need a Benelli to duck hunt? Is it better than a Remington 870?

Fwiw I will never sink more than used Submariner money on a watch.

I can talk watches all night.

I bought that exact Ball Trainmaster after seeing it here. Exact look I was searching for and I could find it at a price I was willing to spend. Ball makes some damned ugly watches though outside of a few that look okay.

Has anyone mentioned watchrecon.com or chrono24.com

They are like kayak.com for watches. All watch sale sites balled into one.
