Youtube is regressing, why?

Just notice Youtube has removed the option to reverse sort a channels videos from newest to oldest. It is a very simple function, one I taught myself to program in high school in 1982.
Why is Youtube making their product less usable? For 40 years I've never seen a company intentionally remove features and make their product less attractive to their target audience. For 40 years, developers have strove to improve their product, not deperacate it.
I need the OT to give me good reasons why this was a sound business decision. All conspiracy theories accepted, because this is some weird shite.

If you haven't noticed, "the customer is always right" mentality died years ago. YouTube is basically a monopoly, and monopolies don't care what you think.

I have it and pay for it. It's like 9 bucks a month. I use it a ton. It is definitely worth it and would be the last streaming service I would cancel. I don't ever see any ads (other than ones posters do for sponsors during videos)..

Serious Eats blog used to have the new content front and center. Then the founder sold to a big corporation, and they mixed everything up so that three-year old articles would be on top and you were not sure what was new or old. They did other stuff, like taking away comments, that made it more polished but less fun and interesting.
I went from a committed, daily reader to checking it maybe monthly.

I noticed this the other day. I went to a youtube channel that posts pretty often and i had to scroll for a long time to get to the most recent video bc they got rid of the sort feature. so dumb

Anything free that has a better paying option (YouTube premium, Peacock Ad-Free, etc) will make their free version so unbearable that people will pay for the advanced version.
