Seems like they push videos that are over 7 minutes long, some longer, do you click on a random video if it's that long?

Remember when it didn't have ads?

Is their another web site that competes with YouTube?

Got to get the Youtube Ad Blocker extension for Google Chrome. Never see ads anymore.

This is strange as 4 minutes is pretty much proven to be the perfect length to hold someone's attention span for most things.

I can't stand waiting through an 1-minute ad just to watch a 30 sec clip of something.

I noticed recently that FB started putting ads in the middle of their videos. Total dick move IMO.

YouTube has recently been having these short 5 second non skippable ads. They must have figured out that 100% of the skippable ads were being skipped.

I always enjoyed YouTube sports.

Try searching YouTube for Brazillian waxing.

Quick look at Vimeo looks mostly like music.

Dailymotion has some short random videos for killing time at work.

YouTube circa 2006-2009 was the peak of the "no rules" era before corporations started getting their hands involved.

It's more than that. I know LSU Sports was posting a lot of their videos on there.

Ultimately it depends on what you are looking for.

Videos over 10 minutes long are pushed into a higher tier of advertising.

Also I've never encountered an unskipable minute long ad on YouTube. I think the longest one I've seen that you can't skip is 15 seconds.

I've turned my adblocker off for YouTube because that's how the channels I watch sick around. If I'm watching a music video our movie trailer or news story I just skip the ad after 5 seconds.
