Where were you 10 years ago? Good or bad? I look back thinking how much was crammed into 10 years but at the same time it was quick.

The growth I’ve made in the last 5 years dwarfs the growth I’ve made in the 40 before that. Maturity, financial, content ness, career, everything. I’m definitely a late bloomer.

It like a blur like every other decade before.

Same for me. 5 years ago I broke out of my comfort zone. Took a chance, it paid off. It made me a better person in all aspects of my life. I’m personally just in a much better place now.

Went from living out of my car to earning 6 figures within the last decade.
The Army was the bridge that helped me get from point a to point b. Saved my life

Kids grew up a lot, we moved and both changed jobs. Other than that we are pretty much doing the same stuff.

10 years ago I was a year into the last job I'll ever have. Getting sloppy drunk at parties in front of/with the people who would eventually trust me with running a company along with others that were doing similar things. Had 3 kids in there too.

Decades since the 90s dont count, they're basically all the same.

The last 20 years seem like a blur. But the other decades that I've lived through (70s, 80s, and 90s) seemed more distinct and interesting to live through...especially as far as pop culture goes.
But if you love skinny jeans, comic book movies, shitty music in every genre, and politics infesting everything, now is your time to shine.

I was probably in the happiest time of my life. I was still in the early honeymoon phase with the girl who would later become my ex-wife. College was fun.

Was doing Halloween with my then 4 year old and my now ex wife. Was making 1/3 of what I make now and 4 days before I was told by my now ex-wife she was leaving me. She explained a bunch of reasons it was my fault so it was the beginning of a very dark time in my life. I found out 6 months later the reason she was leaving was because she was a whore and fricking pretty much anyone she could thinking she could do better.
That said, I would absolutely go through it all again. It got me where I am today. I make 3 times as much money, have a house and 100 acres, full custody of our son and a new wife and son and have never been happier. Had I not gone through the other, I would never have the perspective on life I do now.
ETA: I wonder how she looks at it now as she was working management in retail at the time, but now lives in a trailer while he’s unemployed and she’s working at a daycare and living with their pregnant teenage daughter.

Social media came along and watered everything down. Everything became easily accessible.
There is a difference in passion..ifbyoure a kid in the 80s or 90s and you walk miles to a record store to pick up a vinyl, cassette or cd of a band you're interested in..as opposed to YouTube where you listen to 1 or 2 songs.
Remember playing a cassette or vinyl and having to listen to every song? And in that process those other songs become important later on?
