Every year I see multiple people come in during the last hour of the end-of-the-year two day seminar and fill out the ticket for attending the whole thing.

I think the whole process is generally a joke.

I attend conferences, etc., that center around my practice area. That really should be enough.

It's a money grab. If they actually gave a shite, they would make you do a certain amount of hours in your field of practice.

Now that's bullshite. All you have to do is sit there. And you always pick up some information.

The CLE's are so overpriced. $545 to hear speakers stroke their own egos, make stupid jokes, and tell you shite you can find with a quick Google search.

Finished last week with four hours online. The State Bar sent email today accepting the CLE and updated my transcript. Wish I had some cover forward!

EDIT - I used TRTCLE $49 bundle to get the last 4 hrs. It was easy and not as horrible as some. And I don't even practice anyone.

Retired now, so don't have to sweat it. Several times needed 5 or 6 hours between Christmas and New Years.

But it is a little bit of a pain when you are licensed in multiple states with differing deadlines and requirements.

and this is why my TX bar application has been sitting unfinished for over a year. I HAVE to do it, but my life is complicated enough as it is! And I need to add NC and TN. I need a full-time assistant/life-coach.

Finished my hours last Friday. Some day I won't procrastinate so much. At least I hope.

Texas allows you to do all of the CLE online. It also puts out a free CLE every month, so you can get away with only paying for three hours if you do it right.

Professionalism CLEs are relatively hard to come by. Always scrounging for that hour in December.

LSBA Online CLE

You can get that professionalism hour online. LSBA has a bunch of online options for it.

It feels good to have a CLE-exempt job.

This is my first year ever where I've completed all of my hours before December.
