Finally, they are listening to us.

quote:

The English faculty at Yale looks prepared to surrender to social justice warriors demanding a rewrite of the storied “Major English Poets” course. The faculty’s chair appeared to make concessions after calls for the compulsory course be “decolonized” because it features too many white male authors.

quote:

Students claimed that they were “so alienated that they have to walk out of the room” because of a preponderance of authors like Shakespeare and Chaucer, who “actively harm” them.

omg I can't even imagine the pain...

quote:

They concluded: “It is your responsibility as educators to listen to student voices. We have spoken. We are speaking. Pay attention.”

How would this stupid shite go through anyone's mind?

It is a class on major English Poets. They are white. Deal with it you pussy idiots.

I'm sure Yale offers a class on Af-Am Literature, Women's literature, etc etc.

In college I knew the words of Chaucer and Plato were raping me but I didn't have the courage to speak up...

This statement is completely asinine.

If this were the case, my physical chemistry professor would've stopped after molecular thermodynamics and ignored the whole quant half of the class.

Good.

Only teach Maya Angelou and slam poetry.

I keep expecting these retards to run out of stuff to complain about but apparently it's not gonna happen anytime soon.

There are plenty of very good non-white writers in English, like Derek Walcott, Toni Morrison, James Baldwin, Rushdie, among many, many others, but I don't see how you can understand some of these later authors without understanding Chaucer and Shakespeare.

If I was a parent paying that kind of tuition, I'd be calling the office of their president and asking "WTF"

The class only focuses on Poets from the 14th to 17th Century. It says it in the class description.

Also, there are 100k signatures on the petition, allegedly. Yale only has 12k students, and a small minority are English Majors.

It definitely is not. It is their job to teach what they think is appropriate.

It is the student's job to shut the frick up and learn.
