New British TV show does that. Separates a couple for 3 weeks while one of them chooses the home they will live in. The TV show gives them £15,000 ($23,000) for the down payment.

What could POSSIBLY go wrong?

Yes, we just recently bought a house and during the entire search process we liked/disliked all the same ones and were really on the same page with what we wanted.

Yea, I'd trust my wife. She wouldn't trust me, and she shouldn't lol.

I don't care so much, plus I trust she'd make a good choice, and I can adapt easily to whatever.

I love my wife too much to let her make that decision by herself.

My wife did. She scoped out the neighborhood and house styles and then a few weeks later I found a house and put money down.

I would. Our tastes are pretty similar. Plus, as long as I can put a couch and a TV in one of the rooms, I would be OK.

Yep...we are in process of looking at houses in KC area, and everytime I tell her about one online she said she already had it bookmarked because she liked it too.

I did this with the first wife. She went with the one we purchased because it came with a hot tub on the deck and a sauna upstairs. The one I wanted had a wrap around deck and a creek that actually ran under part of the deck. Plus, the one I wanted was literally 100 yards from tidewater.

She won out.

Does she have to follow a budget that I'm aware of? If so, yes. She has really good taste when it comes to real estate (she used to work for an interior designer).

I would. We've been looking at floor plans for when we rebuild and also went through the house hunting process 2 years ago. We both know what's important to the other.

Never again

While dating, i wasn't able to go out and look at houses with her, and she bought a house that will be a fricking monstrosity in next 5-10. I think she got frustrated and settled, rather than wait for right house.

Wouldnt doubt if they literally have to rebuild the whole basement and foundation. the walls have cracks that go from floor to ceiling in basement. Sure, they have all been fixed with some shite, but you can see the main wall starting to bow in.

I wonder, what the frick was her Dad thinking, when looking at the house??? 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom/shower????

We do have a deep, nice sized back yard, and the dog loves running the frick out of it. But man oh man, ur pop is supposed to sway his daughter away from shite like this.

I wish i had gone, had work shite to take care of.

So, there is NO fricking way i'd allow her to ever pick out a house.

I pick out the rental houses we rent on vacations. I have zero trust in her choices of houses.

I think my SO has pretty good taste so yes I would. I don't really care so much about aesthetics and such, I'd be more worried about the price tag.

If youre watching shite like that, then you've already given over your decision making rights.

Same here. She actually may be better on the house budget, but I'd still want to know how much she was going to spend going into it.
