It’s cleaner (beal is 100x cleaner than Bourbon)

Then don't go to Bourbon. When you live there, you'll find that there are at least 4 other parts of town with cleaner, nicer, local places that you'd rather go than Bourbon.

No threat of Hurricanes and they experience 4 seasons

Still a decent tornado threat and risk. There's also occasional flooding if I'm not mistaken.

There are no natural disaster-free places on Earth. You're trading one for another in essentially any case.

C) Proximity to other locations

Both are next to other places. Both have airports. Memphis is the better hub for most places, probably.

Then of course the fishing and food

Fishing, food, and family are tough to leave.

I'd rather live near family and occasionally visit cool places than live in a cool place and occasionally visit family. Neither is a one-size fits all solution, right, or wrong.

Chattanooga or Knoxville.

Or Huntsville, Alabama.

Split the baby, move to downtown Jackson.

You’re welcomed in advance.

New Orleans, and it's not even close.

However, as a college graduate, whichever one actually has a job (odds are, that's Memphis)

Wouldn’t live in the city limits either place, and I never go to Bourbon/Beale so that’s not a factor.

Food here is a big factor.

NOLA has had one catastrophic hurricane in anybody’s memory.

NOLA closer to beaches.

I hate snow.

I'd choose Nola but Memphis isn't exactly Minneapolis It probably snows like 2" per year there and many years none at all

I lived in north Georgia, still south of Memphis, and was trapped in my house 4 days straight by snow.

I know it is easy to bash Nola, but Id choose New Orleans in a heartbeat. At the very least it is close to decent weekend getaways. Downside is the job market in New Orleans is pretty poor.

Memphis is the discount version of New Orleans. I like visiting Memphis for long weekends, but no desire to live there. The no state income tax is nice, but it wouldn’t overcome everything else NOLA has.

Depending on your field, go to wherever the best job is, but all things equal, NOLA in a heartbeat.

North Georgia is in the hills.

Memphis is in the delta.

Big difference homey.
