Would you own a 1986 Dodge Van?

I have a chance to buy one for $300. It runs well, etc.
Looks like this
...not actual vehicle but same color
Only downside I see is stigma and I'd park it outside everyday. Ms feels we would be looked upon poorly and devalue our home. Would you own this beast?

No. A 1986 Dodge van bought for $300 will likely cost you $300/day to keep it running.

For $300, yes. My neighbors would absolutely hate it, but frick them. I'd park it in the driveway to block their security cameras from being able to spy on our front yard.

it depends on who you're planning to abduct

If it runs well, is in good shape, has a toilet and a table with swiveling captains chairs on the second row, sure. Poor mans RV. Who cares what others think as long as it meets your needs.

Make sure you airbrush a wizard on it.
If it runs well, and the AC works,I wouldn't care what anybody thinks.
They do use a lot of gas though, worse than a pickup.

That's where I'm at. I planned to come home with it yesterday as a surprise but logistics didn't work out.
It serves some non abduction related functions well I think

Old lady that lives down the street from me has one of these. It is still almost like brand new.less than 20,000 miles on it. They were terrible cars though, for the average driver.

I can smell that thing from here

For 300.00 I'd buy it just to have, resale or lend out to friends/family. That's a good deal if it runs well. I don't trust the transmission in Dodges from that era though.

bro you're thinking small. Lift that sum bitch, 4x4 conversion, mud tires, drop a new engine in that sucker along with some newer commodities (radio with aux or Bluetooth). oh and truck nutz
