Would you lease a Volkswagen e-Golf for $79 a month?

Wife drives a Ford Focus and we want to replace it with a VW e-Golf.
Just got this quote from a dealer for a 2016 e-Golf lease:
$2500 down payment (off-set by $2500 CA state rebate), so basically we pay zero down
$79 per month
36 month lease
7500 miles per year
- We get a clean-air access sticker with this car that will allow us to drive in the HOV lane (will save wife about 30 minutes of driving time everday)
- She has a 20 mile round trip commute everyday so 7500 miles should cover that easily
- She has free charging at work, so we will be spending $0 on gas/electricity
- The monthly payment is $250 on the Ford Focus and we spend about $75-$100 on gas every month for it
From all angles this looks like a no-brainer to me. Thoughts?

What is the overage rate for miles? Check into this, because you're going to need to.
How much is the dealer acquisition fee?
What is the money factor rate?

Sounds like a great deal as long as you don't drive more than 7500 miles a year, which isn't all that much honestly.

Do you get access to free charging every day? If not, you probably need to consider how much electricity it eats up. If so, this is probably a good deal.
VW is advertising an 85 mile range (which is probably optimistic given the company's record), but should easily cover the 20 mile commute. Just keep that range in mind if you use your gas powered car for longer trips.
If you are okay with the range and have access to free charging....go for it.

At least pics of car. Sounds like a half step up from a smart car.

A 20 mile daily commute comes out to 15,000 miles for a three year lease. How much is the overage on mileage?

Jeez. I'd need at least 10k if it were just a to and from work car.

As long as she doesn't drive more than 2,500 miles per year besides work, seems like a good deal

This is why California is broke: A very stupid populace financing "clean" cars.
I personally wouldn't drive it, but that's cheap enough

If Texas had the 2500 refund (I have no idea if they have any credit), and I knew I could live with the 85 mile range (I can't). I'd do this in a heart beat. You pay more for cable than that. Haha. I'd get it as a 3rd vehicle. I commute a good bit though and I doubt the range would always work for me. Definitely couldn't be my only car.

52 weeks a year times 5 days a week times 40 miles a day is 10,400 miles.
Just driving to work only

I read it as 20 miles per day?
