No dad is one thing. It's the dad who was crappy and created feelings of abandonment that makes for screwed up girls. They crave attention and go from love to hate in a flash.

My current girlfriend has a total deadbeat for a dad, he was a good father growing up until she was in middle school. She has an absolute saint for a mother and is a great girl. Suprisingly she is the least crazy and "care free" girl that I've ever been with. But before I met her I'd say no way in hell.

There will always be daddy issues with the woman you are married to...relative to your relationship. Daddy did everything for them, daddy did nothing for them...

Also depends on when the rift with the dad happened, if its later in life doesn't have the same effect as if they rolled out on them early on. Also, its one less annoying in law to have to deal with.
