I have a 17 year old, and I know he's active. I'm not raising another kid, and I don't want to see him ruin his life. Therefore, we had a good, serious talk, and I told him that I'd get them for him, but he HAS to use them. No exceptions. Some people say that I am condoning underage sex by doing this. I say that I am protecting all of us. All situations aren't the same, and age and gender are big considerations. I think it's right for us in this situation
I don't see why people are giving you shite for this. Good for you and your son.

No. Gross and inappropriate to buy condoms for your underaged son

I have honestly spent a fortune on these pills. This shite should be given out free!
Did the Bern say anything about free plan B if he's elected?

How would people react if this was about buying condoms for your daughter?
Posted on 3/29/16 at 4:18 pm to hendersonshands
That's a tough question. I suppose condoms would be the minimum if I had a daughter. Pill more likely.

I had to buy my own when I was his age. Prepares you for other awkward things you have to do in life.

Buying condoms at 17 would have terrified me to the point that I probably wouldn't have done it.
When I was little, I seriously thought an alarm or something would go off if I tried to buy condoms in a bathroom gas station. That went away when I was about 14 though.
ETA: After I got to LSU, I had no problem going to the health center and filling out the paper work for them. Lifestyles, 4 for a dollar. I'd buy 80 at a time.

Surprised it made it to page 3 without:
Do you know why they sell condoms in 3, 6, and 12 packs?

Condomdepot.com
Crown condoms.
Almost as good as nothing.

I'm guessing this board would not be nearly as on board with that idea.

My dad gave me a box before I went on senior trip

I have a 17 year old son and did the same thing.
Man, it embarrassed the shite out him having that discussion.
As for the daughter question? I have a 13 year old daughter and when she gets to be her brother's age, I will do the exact same thing.
Even if she is on the pill - the pill doesn't protect your lady bits from HIV, herpes, or other STDs.
I want her to be prepared just in case she chooses a boy with less realistic parents than we are.

I buy my kids' condoms a size too big, because they grow up so fast.

17 yr olds cant buy condoms?
They can, but that awkward encounter with the elderly cashier at the drug store and the accompanying judgment is enough to scar a kid.
All I can say is thank God for Amazon.com.
