I only pay $15/ mo for monitoring instead of $36 so it all worked out for me.

(Bulldog security in metry)

And 2 high quality control panels.

There is no way you will spend $4K on alarm system. You got your alarm wires crossed.......

What kind of wiring does it need? It seems like CAT-5e and 22/4 wire.

22/2 for doors/windows, 22/4 for keypads/ motion. It's a fraction the price of cat5.

Whatever makes you sleep better. They hosed you on the front end for wiring.

Go wireless.

In my house that would have resulted in more than 28 batteries needing periodic replacement, hardwired is the only way to go.

$4K added to the loan over 30 years? What is that, 12-15/month?

Which is why they can get away charging that much for something that should only cost a fraction of that.

I understand your concern but the wireless contacts use small Button batteries which last a long time. I have 22 window/door sensors in my house and have replaced only one battery once in 2.5 years. When I did replace that one I bought a 10 pack on Amazon for under $10 shipped.

Yes, you should pre-wire...for the right price.

I would also suggest you also add a 240V receptacle in the garage for charging electric cars. You can thank me later.

ETA: Also make sure you run a power wire to your A/C thermostat (4th wire) so you can use it to power those new wifi thermostats. 3-wire won't let you upgrade. Wifi can't run on AA batteries.

Certified did mine about 3 years ago. My house is about 2700 sqft living they did all my doors and windows, 2 motion detectors, smoke alarms, CO detectors, 2 heat detectors in my attic spaces for around $1600. This included 2 keypads and no contract requirement.
